UPDATE FROM OUR 2023 POPPY CAMPAIGN

The Poppy Committee would like to thank all that Volunteered to help this year. To date we have raised roughly $34,800.00. We still have donations coming in.

For those of you that don't know where these funds go.

All funds raised from canvassers, Wreath purchases, Banquet, counter boxes at stores and direct donations, go into a Poppy Trust fund account. This account is separate from the Legion and 100% of those funds are used to help Veterans in need as well as their families. It also gets donated to Programs that strictly help Veterans. The Legion does not and can not use any of these funds.

If anyone would like to donate, if you are a Veteran in need, or you know of a program they helps veterans in need, you can reach out to our email poppy@prestonLegion.ca

Thank you again

About the Poppy Campaign

We wear poppies beginning the last Friday in October until November 11, 2023 and funds collected go toward veteran-related programs.

How to Support The Poppy Campaign

  • Donate

Make a charitable donation to our Poppy Trust Fund, which supports local veterans and their families with emergency shelter and food grants, our Veteran Transition Program, accessibility aids, and more!

Donations can be made by e-transfer to poppy@prestonlegion.ca or by cheque to ‘Royal Canadian Legion #126 Poppy Trust Fund’ and mailed/dropped off to the Legion at 334 Westminster Drive N, Cambridge, ON N3H 1S5

  • Volunteer

It takes dozens of volunteers to make our Annual Poppy Campaign happen.

We need your support to fill two hour volunteer slots for canvassing at retail stores from October 27 - November 10, 2023.

  • Wear a Poppy

From the last Friday in October to Remembrance Day, millions of Canadians wear a Poppy as a visual pledge to never forget those who served and sacrificed. The red flower also is the symbol of the Legion's Poppy Campaign, raising funds to support Veterans and their families in need. We invite everyone across the country to show their recognition by proudly wearing this symbol of Remembrance.
